Ball Control Skills

The following ball skills are generic in that they are not specific to a particular sport, and they are grouped by whether they require one or two balls. Skills are listed in their approximate order of difficulty. Younger movers may use a plastic ball, volleyball, or child's basketball, and older movers may use a youth-sized or adult-sized basketball. Hints
Passing ball back and forth between finger tips as if squeezing a bannana peel.
Passing ball back and forth between arms while bending forward at waist.
Circling ball around the body from low to high; then from high to low.

Passing ball between legs and around right and left leg alternately.

 
Passing ball between legs and around right and left leg alternately while walking.
Tossing ball, bouncing it against upper arm, and catching it with the same hand.
Bouncing ball between legs from the front and catching it in back (and vice verse).
From a squatting position with legs apart, catching the ball alternately in front and behind the legs.
From a squatting position with legs apart, catching the ball with 1arm in front and 1behind the legs.
With arms parallel to floor, passing the ball in circular manner around the arms and chest.
Tossing ball held at the waist over the head and catching it behind the back.
Bouncing ball in front; walking under ball and catching it behind the back.
Spinning the ball on a finger.
Passing ball backward overhead; then bending forward and catching it between the legs.
Two-Ball Skills
Description
Hints
Passing two balls alternately against the wall using a chest pass.
Dribbling two balls in synchronized manner, i.e. at the same speed and level.
Dribbling two balls with opposite cadence, i.e. one hits the floor when the other hits the hand.
Dribbling two balls so one remains at a high level and one at a low level, respectively.

 

Fitness
