Creative Dramas: Picture the Possibilities
Step 9: Title creative drama
Before using a drama with students, teachers are encouraged to title the drama in an original and captivating way. Originality is a fourth characteristic of creativity represented in creativity tests by Torrance (1974). An unusual title creates interest in students and provides a framework for the word pictures used. An effective title represents an idea that is central, rather than peripheral, to the story. Determining that an idea is central to the focus of a story is best done near the end of the process, rather than near the beginning, since the focus can change. The title in Table 1 (See Step 3) is original in that it incorporates alliteration.
