What is Chillhop?
Chillhop is a sub-genre of hip hop. The term was coined in the early 2000s to refer to music that blends jazz elements and samples with hip hop beats and electronic dance music. Nujabes is considered the father of Chillhop music. Influenced heavily by Jazz Rap from the 1980s, he began producing his own music around 1996. One of his most recognizable works is that of the background music for ShinichirÅ Watanabe's series Samurai Champloo in 2004. Around that time, Adult Swim (the network that broadcast the show in the USA) began incorporating the genre in their commecial "bumps".-Wikipedia
