Over the past half century or so, a conversation has been reengaged which seeks to address the question of how the N.T. and Paul in particular understand the faith of the Hebrew Bible. This conversation has come to be referred to as the "new perspective on Paul" (though there is more than one).
In this course, this conversation is of particular interest because of the significance of the conclusions drawn by its various proponents for understanding the basic message and theology of the Hebrew Bible. You are encouraged to engage in the conversation yourself, by critically listening to both "sides" of the conversation and exercising critical judgment in light of the evidence.
To aid in "following the conversation" the contributions below are in chronological order.
