| Your assignment is to create a five minute newscast and present it "live" at 4:15pm on 5/16 with the following guidelines: |
| The news should be as current as possible up to the 4:15 airtime. |
| Your audience is the Twin Cities metro area. |
| The newscast will have a "soft" commercial break at the three minute mark (the ad break will be one minute long). |
| The newscast will have a "hard" commercial break at the six minute mark (ending the newscast). |
| The newscast should include the following in some combination: |
| one local story |
| one state story |
| one national story |
| one international story |
| one feature story |
| one soundbite story based on an interview |
| one "live" story |
| one sports story |
| the current weather |
| additional stories (pad stories) as needed |
| The news team will consist of: |
| 2 anchors |
| 1 sports anchor |
| 1 weather anchor |
| 1 "live" reporter |
| 1 soundbite reader |
| 1 director/timekeeper |
