Introduction
Thanks for stopping by my personal site. I'm a member of the Department of Communication Studies at Bethel University, and have been here since 1997. Like many of my colleagues in liberal arts institutions, I prefer to describe myself as a generalist. I enjoy courses ranging from Argumentation and Debate to Political Communication and Television Criticism, and many things in-between.
In Interim 2012, I will teach a rhetorical studies course on myth and value analysis. During Spring 2012, I will be teaching an honors course entitled Concepts of Community. Then, perhaps, I'll update this site more regularly. I also am the director of the Bethel Forensics team.
When not teaching, I enjoy learning more about computers - I'm hoping to add to HTML/CSS skills by learning some web programming. Then, I won't feel like the lowliest member of GAWDS. My web-related interests include website accessibility and how to make word processing files (i.e., Word Perfect and Word files) more accessible. I'm also trying to learn more about photography.
I also enjoy reading in the realms of politics and history. I've been told that I'm owned by our cat, Abby. As anyone who has gone to my office has seen, I'm a big Peanuts fan. I've seen the statues every year they've been in St. Paul and Santa Rosa, California.
This site is, to use the web cliche, in process and still being updated.
Oh, and one more thing.... Geaux Tigers!
