5/5/07 1:00 Kistler 50 50 500 1.13 16.2 16.8 cloudy, slightly breezy day. Water is brown-yellow but fairly clear. No macrophytes are present yet. Ice has been out since the first week in April.
5/19/07 1:30 Kistler 50 50 750 1.78 19.9 29.7 Clear very warm (85.5°F) coontail and potamogeton is starting to form along the lake edge, but mats are not yet formed, but beginning. Lake is very clear with just a slight yellow tinge to the water
6/2/07 12:30 Kistler 50 50 750 1.435 23.1 23.1 Water is clear, slight breeze, macrophye mat is now extending from shore about 20 feet with underwater Ceratophyllum extending out further.
6/14/07 12:00 Kistler 50 50 750 1.73 25.6 29.6 Water is clear. Algae is clearly visible in the upper 1/2m, but the water collected is still quite clear. Macrophytes are mostly unchanged since the last sampling period, but seemed to be less problematic taking the canoe through the mat. Nuphar are blooming.

7/11/07 12:30 Kistler 50 50 750 0.955 24.3 21.3 Has been in upper 80's to 90's for over a week and then on Sunday 7-8 we got 1.5 inches of rain. The Nuphar are abundant, but the other macrophytes seem to be less noticeable. The wind is quite stiff today from the NW and their is definite algae and sediment in the water column.
7/26/07 12:30 Kistler 50 50 750 1.75 28 32.8 July has been very dry with one major rain storm. Lake level is about 6" below normal (based on dock). Macrophytes, mostly Ceratophyllum, are all down .5 meter and below with only the Nuphar on the surface. Water is very clear for lake Valentine at this time of the summer.
8/9/07 1:00 Kistler 50 50 1000 2.135 25.8 27.2 Breezy from the NW. Temperatures have been in the 80's and July was dry and hot. Lake level is down about 6 inches from normal and the macrophyte mat by shore is not as dense as it has been in previous years. Nuphar are blooming and mainly coontail makes up the 20 feet mat near the shore. Water was very clear.
8/25/07 12:30 Kistler 50 50 1000 2.43 22.3 22.6 3" rain in last week
9/8/07 12:30 Kistler 50 50 500 0.9 23.3 20.3 1 inch rain in last week, extensive shore macrophytes and floating duckweed
9/22/07 1:00 Kistler 50 50 750 0.84 19 23.1 Several inches of rain this week, lake level up about 1 foot, all macrophytes blown to SE end of lake and very difficult canoeing from the dock.
10/6/07 11:30 Kistler 50 50 500 0.84 18.2 22.9 Major rains and runoff the last week with the lake high enough (+1foot) that the dock is floating. Duckweed and Coontail are a mass extending about 30 feet from shore at the dock, but little elsewhere - almost impassible at the SE end by the dock with a canoe. Day was cloudy with intermittent showers.
